With the new status, Donazioni to soQuiet are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
“This tax-exempt status opens up many new avenues for us to help people with misophonia even more. I’ve had misophonia since I was a child and this is an exciting step. We have big plans to raise awareness about misophonia, as well as provide new resources to help people lead productive lives with it.”
Misophonia, which translates as "hatred of sound", is actually a multi-sensory neurological disorder.
Che cos'è la misofonia?
Misophonia is not yet a well-known disorder and is often misunderstood. It is a multi-sensory neurological disorder that causes severe, abnormal emotional and physical reactions to everyday stimuli. These are typically quieter sounds such as eating noises, gum chewing or smacking, pen clicking, and some visual motions such as leg shaking. Without a known treatment or cure, people with misophonia tend to avoid normal situations and isolate themselves as a way of coping. Misophonia is a disability for people who have a pronounced case of the syndrome. Misophonia can be tough to understand and even tougher to live with.
soQuiet is here to change that.
